TunnelImagine you are in the cellar of a building, stumbling in the darkness, bruising your body as you bump into unseen obstacles. Suddenly a door opens at the top of the stairs, and you catch the briefest glimpse of twelve stairs, illuminated for only a moment, before the door closes again. This is a moment of understanding. It becomes dark once again, but now you know that the stairway exists, and you know its direction. There will be more bumps and bruises, but everything has changed, for you have hope and knowledge and memory of the light at the top of the stairs.

This web site is the light at the top of the stairs. It can provide you with hope, knowledge and understanding. The understanding that depression is not terminal and you are not a helpless victim. What we call depression isn’t a disorder at all but, like physical pain, an alarm alerting us that something is undoubtedly wrong; that perhaps it is time to stop, take a time-out and attend to the unaddressed business of filling our souls.
